The Pros and Cons of this Breville Classic Combo Stand and Hand Mixer.
Pros:
- The 2-in-1 features with the handheld and stand mixer
- A decent mixing action on both modes
- Various accessories for different mixtures and doughs
Cons:
- It can get a bit messy with the turbo boost and lack of any splash guard
- This version doesn’t have the HeatSoft feature
The Breville Classic Combo Stand and Hand Mixer has a clever 2-in-1 approach that works pretty well for most user’s needs.
The standout feature of this machine has to be the 2-in-1 design. Hand mixers are always helpful for handling small batches of dough and cake mix, but it is nice to let a machine take the strain now and then.
This machine offers the best of both worlds with a simple cradle attachment to add the handheld mixer to the machine and create an effective tool.
The system takes advantage of the twin beaters and uses a swivel control to try and get to all the ingredients and mixture in the 3.7l stainless steel bowl. For the most part, it seems to do a pretty good job and isn’t too difficult to use.
There are new cooks that can get a decent mixture with minimal effort and that also appreciate the addition of the dough hooks and beaters.
This should allow for the effective creation of different mixes and batter for lots of fun projects. At the end, the bowl and parts are detachable for cleaning in the dishwasher.
There are some small elements to the design of this Breville 2-in-1 Food Mixer that could prove problematic while creating your mixture.
There is a lot here that makes this machine a good fit for a lot of people in need of a helpful kitchen tool. However, there are some aspects to the compact design that backfire slightly. The first is the position of the clever one-touch turbo boost.
It is too easy to catch this by accident and send the mixture flying. The lack of any splash guard or lip on the wide bowl does mean that you might lose some mixture if this happens.
Also, be aware that while there are lots of positive comments about a HeatSoft feature in this Breville range, that comes with a different model.
You can have the ability to heat up butter for your mixture, or you can have a 2-in1 machine. You can’t have both.
What does this mean for a final verdict on this Breville Classic Hand/Stand Mixer?
There are some disadvantages in choosing a compact model like this because of the placement of the buttons and the need for regular cleaning. But, the design and impact of the mixer work well over those two functions.
This system can be effective, although not perfect, for a range of mixtures and is a nice way to enjoy a 2-in-1 system. Therefore, the Breville food mixer is still highly recommendable to the right user.
